PREVIEW SAMPLE VIDEOS OF LEVEL 3 PHILOSOPHY AND METHODOLOGY
Different Horses and personalities - Same methodology - Consistent understanding and results
Confidence, Trust & Solid Minds — Foundation Level Three builds on the communication skills developed in Level One and Level Two and takes the horse to the next stage of education—developing a confident, trusting, and mentally solid horse that can remain connected to the horseman even when faced with new situations, distractions, obstacles, and challenges.
In this program, you will learn how to develop the horse's ability to think, understand, and respond rather than simply react. Through clear communication, body position, energy, timing, repetition, and planned relaxation, the horse learns to become more confident in both itself and its horseman.
Confidence is not created by forcing a horse through something it does not understand. It is developed through education, understanding, repetition, and allowing the horse to process what it is learning.
Each lesson is designed to help the horse develop greater mental stability while continuing to build physical coordination and muscle memory. The goal is to create a horse that can approach unfamiliar situations with greater confidence, remain attentive to the horseman, and respond to communication with understanding.
Through this step-by-step educational process, the horse doesn't simply learn to perform an exercise—it learns to understand and respond willingly.
The Principals of Confidence - Trust - Solid Minds
Understanding – Teaching the horse to understand what is being asked rather than simply reacting to a situation.
Confidence – Developing the horse's ability to approach new experiences with a greater sense of security and understanding.
Trust – Building a partnership in which the horse learns to trust the communication, consistency, and guidance of the horseman.
Mental Connection – Helping the horse remain connected to the horseman while experiencing distractions, obstacles, movement, and unfamiliar situations.
Progressive Education – Introducing new challenges gradually so the horse has the opportunity to understand, process, and develop confidence.
Repetition & Muscle Memory – Repeating correct responses so that understanding becomes increasingly consistent and the horse develops physical and mental coordination.
Relaxation – Providing appropriate periods of relaxation so the horse has time to process the education and develop confidence rather than becoming mentally overwhelmed.
Consistency – Maintaining clear and predictable communication so the horse understands what is expected and can develop trust in the educational process.
Level Three develops the horse beyond basic communication by educating the mind to remain confident, connected, and willing in new and challenging situations.
